Bringing the Pressure

Posted on 05 September 2008 by Dan Zinski

The Vikings know what to do to insure Aaron Rodgers‘ debut as a starter turns out miserable - pressure him, rattle him, get him on the ground. “It’s on us to disrupt his timing,” said Jared Allen. “We can’t allow him to sit back there and get into a rhythm and make those throws on time. We’ll see if he has any Brett Favre-like plays in him.”

Brett Favre-like plays? That’s what Darren Sharper thinks Rodgers needs to avoid. “With Brett, it can come from anywhere,” Sharper said. “He was great at improvisation. That’s what made him great but that’s what also got him into a little bit of trouble. One thing Aaron definitely doesn’t want to do is try and emulate Brett because Brett is a unique quarterback.”

Aaron Rodgers is not Brett Favre, will never be Brett Favre. Monday night will be both a coming out party for the new Packers QB and a rude awakening.
