2010 Olympic nods

Posted on 03 July 2009 by Tim Redinger

On top of getting ready for the 2009 - 2010 season amidst the pressure of not making the playoffs three years in a row, several members of the Sabres are going to be competing in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics.

Ryan Miller has been asked to attend camp for Team USA, and has a good chance of landing a goaltending spot for this years Nationaly competition.

Derek Roy after playing the Worlds for Team Canada has been asked to attend for our Northern neighbors.

Not official yet, but are almost a guarantee are Jochen Hecht for Team Germany, and Thomas Vanek for his home Austria.

In what could amount as the final year the NHL partakes in the Olympics, which is a good thing as far as I am concerned, it would be nice to see as many of our guys make the national squads and perform well.
