For The Love Of Hockey, Ban Hits To The Head!!!

Written by Jordan M. Alpert | November 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Blue Line Station (Rangers)

2 Games???  That’s all Matt Cooke of the Pittsburgh Penguins got for blind-siding Artem Anisimov in a blowout win.  Watch Cooke’s Hit To The Head  And it was the second time he’s done this in his NHL career.  Thankfully, Anisimov was not seriously hurt — assuming you define “seriously hurt” to exclude needing smelling salts to remember [...]

What Does Fatigue Got to Do With It?

Written by greenbanner18 | November 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Hardwood Houdini (Celtics)

The talk was a few games into the season, is currently, and will be for the remainder of the year about what the minutes of the Big 3 are. I brought it up in a Ginos Jungle post only 3 games into the season titled ”No Issue With Big 3 Minutes“ when there was question about why certain players such as [...]

Written by Michael Jong | November 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Marlin Maniac (Marlins)

This according to Marlins general manager Michael Hill. From Joe Frisaro at MLB.com:
Appearing as a guest on Marlins flagship station 790 The Ticket’s “Hot Stove Show” on Saturday, [GM Michael Hill] was asked if Johnson would be with the team next season.
“Yes, I can say with certainty, yes,” Hill said.
I take that as probably true. [...]

Merry Christmas Ladies: Grady Sizemore

Written by Sooze | November 30, 2009 | Comments Off | FanSided

Hey there! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend, I know I did. Anyway, if you’re a woman (…or a gay man) and a baseball fan, there’s no doubt you’ve heard about the sexy myspace-style bathroom pictures of Grady Sizemore which were stolen from his inbox.

If you haven’t seen them yet, it’s our pleasure to bring the beauties to your attention. Here’s one to wet your whistle, and here’s the rest. Let this be a lesson to all you guys and gals out there who are considering emailing risque photos of yourself to your significant other. DUMB IDEA. Unless you’d like other folks to possibly see them someday.

P.S. To those of you who’ve already come to the brilliant conclusion that we are horrible people for stooping so low as to objectify the Cleveland Indians centerfielder, I say… it’s not the first time, and it most certainly won’t be the last.

If you check FanGraphs as often as I do, you may have already seen this, but for the uninitiated, check this out. FanGraphs founder David Appelman has set up an awesome feature inspired by Tom Tango’s Fans Scouting Report, called the 2010 Fan Projections! That’s right, similar to the FSR, we the fans will now [...]

Rasheed Wallace Goes Full Racial In Rant

Written by zoner | November 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Pippen Ain't Easy (Bulls)

Hey, when the league’s all-time leader in technical fouls speaks, you better listen up. You don’t get close to 300 career techs by talking nonsense. Right? After the Celts beat the Raptors, Sheed went off on LeBron and players he refers to as the “NBA Without Borders” kids.
“They’ve got to know that he’s a [expletive] [...]

The entire season the Bills have been atrocious in the fourth quarter. This week they turned that theme on its head scoring 24 points in the final quarter rallying to defeat the Miami Dolphins in Buffalo.
Terrell Owens, who has finally shown up as T.O. both on the field and off, said regarding Ralph Wilson’s coaching [...]

Week 12 Recap: Heartbreaker

Written by Chris | November 30, 2009 | Comments Off | NFL, Nice Pick, Cowher (Steelers), The Ebony Bird (Ravens)

They say close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
Unfortunately, the Pittsburgh Steelers play professional football. So while their 20-17 loss in overtime to the hated Baltimore Ravens may have been closer than many of us had hoped, it still doesn’t matter. If, as head coach Mike Tomlin likes to say, a win [...]

Current State Of Tag Team Wrestling

Written by oldskoolwarrior | November 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Daily DDT (Wrestling)

When you think about this history of professional wrestling, specifically tag team wrestling, there are some phenomenal names that come to mind: Fabulous Freebirds, Hart Foundation, Legion of Doom, The Rockers, The New Age Outlaws, etc…  I could go on for a long time!  However, when you ask me to name tag teams over the [...]

Ilya Bryzgalov again got the best of his former team, defeating the Ducks in overtime 3-2. He made several big saves  in the first period to keep the Coyotes in the game and it eventually paid off as Jim Vandermeer scored his second of the game to win it in overtime.

New Jersey Nets 0-17 – A New Brand of Stink

Written by Justin DeFeo | November 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Sir Charles In Charge (NBA)

Just finished watching the New Jersey Nets fall to 0-17 with their loss on the road to the Lakers. It goes without saying that this Nets team is terrible, but on this particular night it takes the cake. Coming on the heels of the news that the longest tenured coach in the eastern conference, Lawrence [...]

When it Comes to Johnson “Haters”, the Media Misses Their Point

Written by hopper | November 30, 2009 | Comments Off | NASCAR

You hear it all the time now that Jimmie Johnson has accomplished this unprecedented feat.
Those labeled as “Haters”(i.e. anybody who doesn’t like Jimmie Johnson) make a point stating that NASCAR is fake, or that everything that is done in NASCAR is a big act, or that Rick Hendrick is funneling money into NASCAR so that [...]
