Mike Leach is getting hammered by the media for not showing any sympathy for his discipline of  Adam James, son of ESPN’s Craig James. The networks have been one-sided in their coverage of the story. Quotes are coming out everywhere in support of Texas Tech and their decision to terminate head coach Mike Leach.

One guy who certainly won’t be disappointed to look at 2009 in the rear view mirror is Tiger Woods.   Although Woods has been MIA for the better part of a month now, he did graciously send me a few links for PJ readers to check out as we enter a new year and decade.
The biggest bust and best baller in [...]

Are You Having A Happy Holiday?

Written by Kevin Ferguson | December 31, 2009 | Comments Off | NFL, SideLion Report (Lions)

Drive here, drive there, then drive back here and get ready to go to this other house in the morning. All in all good friends and wonderful company.
Bought a new dishwasher too! Installed it myself so I’m feeling pretty manly.
I’ve only had my net book the past week and typing on it is bothersome.
Things are [...]

Baseball Bloggers Alliance Recommends Alomar, Blyleven for Hall of Fame

Written by Joe Dexter | December 31, 2009 | Comments Off | Motor City Bengals (Tigers)

If the Baseball Bloggers Alliance had their way, Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven would begin working on their speeches. In those speeches, they’d likely thank whomever came up with the idea of rounding.
The 115-member BBA was polled on their Hall of Fame preferences, using the standard ballot presented to the Baseball Writers of America, who [...]

Things are not going too well here in Pistonland right now.

– 8 game losing streak.
– 6 out of the 8 were of the double digit variety.
 – Rotation is again in limbo because of Gordon, Rip and Tay returning, and all at about the same time.
– There’s a sense right now that the team isn’t giving full effort (Knick [...]

Written by Mike Landolina | December 31, 2009 | Comments Off | Blades of Teal (Sharks)

Has anyone in the NHL noticed that the San Jose Sharks have racked up 6 wins in a row? To be honest, I hope no one has. For years the Sharks have been dubbed an NHL powerhouse that just can’t win in the playoffs.
This season is different. Everyone around the NHL seems to be [...]

Blazers 103, Clippers 99 Re-Thoughts

Written by Coup | December 31, 2009 | Comments Off | Rip City Project (Blazers)

So, some LaMarcus Aldridge guy sprained his ankle tonight. That’s cool. This Jeff Pendergraph fellow seems just fine with his career-high 14 rebounds and all. Blazers still beat the Clippers, and we all got Chalupas. Yahtzee!
At least that was the general consensus I gathered during and after the game at the Rose Garden, listening to [...]

Brodeur Brilliant in Shutout of Pens

Written by Kevin Whalen | December 31, 2009 | Comments Off | Pucks and Pitchforks (Devils)

The game was a classic goaltending clash that featured the Devils main-stay in net, Martin Brodeur and the Penguins backup Brent Johnson. It can be dubbed as a goalie duel due to how well each team played, putting up a high amount of shots on each. Brent Johnson stopped 31 out of 33 Devils shots [...]

A Steeler Decade In Review (Part 1)

Written by Chris | December 31, 2009 | Comments Off | Nice Pick, Cowher (Steelers)

With 2010 a couple days away, people tend to reflect back at what the past twelve months have brought them.  This January 1st is particularly special in that it also marks the start of a new decade.   Instead of making a list of the best of this or All-Decade that, I thought I’d just take [...]
