A Decade of Oakland Raiders Football

Written by Chris Shellcroft | December 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Just Blog Baby (Raiders)

A decade that began with so much promise devolved into dysfunction and disappointment.
While it wasn’t all bad, the last seven years of the decade have certainly overshadowed the stellar first three.
Here is a look back at the decade that was for the Oakland Raiders with hopes of a better future.
2000
Record: 12-4, AFC West Champions, lost [...]

Sabre of the Decade

Written by Tim Redinger | December 30, 2009 | Comments Off | NHL, Sabre Noise (Sabres)

There was no question who the Sabre of the decade would be from 90-99.  Dominik Hasek was hands down the only Sabre worthy of that acknowledgement.
Who is the Sabre of the 2000-2009 decade?  There have been plenty of fan favorites that could be listed, Brian Campbell, Marty Biron, Chris Drury, Danny Briere.  When it boils [...]

Offensive Speculation

Written by Arrowhead Addict | A Kansas City Chiefs blog | December 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Arrowhead Addict (Chiefs)

Ok, so would I be going out on a limb by saying there is no way Haley will be handling the offensive play calling next year? In fact, if he is still here, I am almost certain we will have a new offensive coordinator next year. We have all heard the rumors about [...]

Towes, Keith, Seabrook make Canada’s Olympic roster

Written by Jeffrey Bartl | December 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Blackhawk Up (Blackhawks)

Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook will represent Canada in the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.
Toews and Keith are no real shock, but the addition of Seabrook comes as a mild surprise. Steve Yzerman constantly spoke highly of Toews, and Keith was a lock. Congrats to Seabrook.
I know there are a lot of ‘Hawks [...]

Jeremy Mayfield has a Relatively Quiet Christmas

Written by hopper | December 30, 2009 | Comments Off | NASCAR

We’ve reached the point in the calendar year where life in the NASCAR world is relatively quiet. As evidenced by the number of posts on here this week(or lack thereof), you can probably guess that there is not a whole lot of stuff going on in the NASCAR world.
That, fortunately, includes Jeremy Mayfield.
We made it [...]

Trap game by definition: Stars 5, Blachawks 4

Written by Jeffrey Bartl | December 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Blackhawk Up (Blackhawks)

Trap game (n.) — Contest against lesser opponent sandwiched between two important games versus quality competition which favored team is expected to win but often loses
I hate being right. I knew it. I f-ing knew, and that’s why the Blackhawks’ 5-4 loss to Dallas last night especially chaps my ass.
If Cristobal Huetever faces the Stars again while [...]

The Orlando Magic will take on the Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday night. You can read more about that game here.
Josh Robbins writes that the Magic must cut down on their turnovers, starting tonight.
Although the Magic won three of those four games, those miscues proved especially costly in Orlando’s Christmas Day loss to the Boston Celtics. The [...]

Written by greenbanner18 | December 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Hardwood Houdini (Celtics)

Bare with me. As fans we are so fixated on the now; we need to know what is happening to the team now, and we relate it to what is going to happen in the future. The team struggles now, they will struggle in the future simply because we dont see beyond how they are [...]

The Morning Fix

Written by Arrowhead Addict | A Kansas City Chiefs blog | December 30, 2009 | Comments Off | Arrowhead Addict (Chiefs)

The NFL’s decision to play the Pro Bowl the Sunday before the Super Bowl means representatives of at least two teams will not be available for the all-star game. More than likely, that will be two teams with quite a few players on the conference all-star teams.
