Ever since the Iowa Chops shuttered their ice, the Anaheim Ducks had been searching for an AHL team to affiliate with and after successful (and brief) negotiations, they landed the more stable and successful Syracuse Crunch.
Previously affiliated with the Dallas Stars, The Chops had only been a viable team for barely a year when allegations [...]

Written by Josh Dhani | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Always Miller Time (Pacers)
I went to the game. Loads of fun. Great win for Indy. Also, guys, I won’t be writing for next week or so. Will be writing again on April 12 or so. Spring Break. No computer. Sorry. But I’ll be back. Don’t worry. Check out the other fine Pacers sites for the great news.
Rams to Give Colt a Look
Written by Justin Stine | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Ramblin' Fan (Rams)
According to ESPN’s James Walker, the Rams plan to hold a private workout with former Texas quarterback Colt McCoy at some point before the draft. I can’t say I’m overly surprised here, as the team is likely just covering all of their bases heading into one of the most important drafts in franchise history, but it [...]
Rotation implications at the start of the season
Written by Brett Miller | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | SoDo Mojo (Mariners)
Today Manager Don Wakamatsu revealed that the starting five will be as follows:
Felix Hernandez RHP
Ian Snell RHP
Ryan Rowland-Smith LHP
Doug Fister RHP
Jason Vargas LHP
What this does is essentially make it a lefty-righty rotation, with the exception of the 1-2. Obviously, Felix is Felix, so it doesn’t really matter who he’s facing on opening day, but while [...]

Why Should I Care About Tiger’s Mess Anymore?
Written by Blake Lovell | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Pro Golf Now (Golf)
Like most golf fans, I’ve had enough of this Tiger Woods drama. Like seriously. I do not care anymore. Why, you may ask? Because it just doesn’t offer me any sort of reason to create a new opinion on the whole thing. So when Vanity Fair released their story (link contains partial nudity) on the [...]
Pats’ Preseason Schedule Announced
Written by jamie | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Musket Fire (New England Patriots)
The Patriots will have an interesting preseason. It’s a mix of new opponents and a familiar foe. The most interesting game will be the very first game, when the Patriots host the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints. Here is the preseason schedule:
Aug. 12: New Orleans Saints
Aug. 19: AT Atlanta Falcons (Game will be nationally [...]
Panthers’ Latest Casualty: Pre-Season Schedule Released
Written by Eric Quackenbush | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Cat Crave (Panthers)
The latest casualty of the Panthers is really no casualty at all. I just felt like adding my brand of questionable humor, in an effort to lighten the mood today.
On Wednesday, the NFL released all the teams’ preseason schedules, and the Panthers face at least two familiar preseason foes for a consecutive year.
Carolina will [...]

Yanks’ switch pitcher makes debut
Written by Andrew Corselli | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Yanks Go Yard (Yankees)
Pat Venditte, better known as That Guy Who Pitches Righty and Lefty, made his debut against Big League hitters yesterday and had a solid first outing. The ambidextrous hurler gave up a run on two hits with a walk over 1 1/3 innings of work, not bad for a player who had never made it [...]
Ravens 2010 Preseason Schedule
Written by Joe Barnes | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | The Ebony Bird (Ravens)
Today, the Ravens preseason schedule for next season was released.
Date
Opponent
Home/Away
TV
8/12
Carolina Panthers
Home
ESPN
8/20 or 8/21
Washington Redskins
Away
TBD*
8/27 or 8/28
New York Giants
Home
TBD*
9/2
St. Louis Rams
Away
TBD*
As you can see, the team will open up their year on National TV. Coach Harbaugh says it gives the team “a little more incentive during training camp” so that they don’t embarrass themselves with millions of people watching. The reason I put an asterisk (*) next to the TBD games is because I’d assume they’ll be on WBAL (Channel 11) like they have been previously, but I haven’t seen any confirmation on that.
It should be a fun game against the [...]
Staal Shines In Defeat Of Islanders
Written by Jordan M. Alpert | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Blue Line Station (Rangers)
The scariest part of last night’s game for me (after the first period of course) was thinking Staalwas going to dislocate his shoulder celebrating his goal. He was dominant throughout the game defensively, and joined the offense a few times. It’s amazing what he can do when he hits the net with his shot. (See, [...]

F- Jordan Caron
Caron, 19, played this season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where he totaled 26 goals and 27 assists for 53 points in 43 games. Caron, who is listed as 6’2” and 202 pounds, was drafted by the Bruins as the 25th overall [...]
Smith and Crabtree developing relationship
Written by Eric Melendez | March 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Niner Noise (49ers)
The 49er Faithful were spoiled in the 1980’s with quarterback/wide receiver combination’s of Joe Montana and John Taylor/Jerry Rice and in the 1990’s with Steve Young/Jerry Rice. It is no coincidence the 49ers have not had much success since the glory days of the ‘80’s and ‘90’s when they had a QB/WR combo that lead them to all the Super Bowls wins. Once Young and Rice retired we waited and waited and waited and… now, do the 49ers finally have that QB/WR combo that led to success for Montana, Young, Taylor and Rice? Well, I would not go that far [...]

The NFL has released all of the pre-season schedule sans actual dates and times. That will come later as the networks jockey to broadcast some of the game in prime-time.
For the Miami Dolphins, their first game will be at home vs. the Tampa Bay Buc’s followed by a road trip to Jacksonville. They return home in week 3 for a game against Atlanta before heading to Texas to face off against the Dallas Cowboys.
