Peel St. in Montreal was buzzing Wednesday night after the Canadiens came from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Washington Capitals, and eliminate the President’s Trophy Winners in seven games. You all know basically how it went, so we won’t get into it again. But basically let’s look forward to the upcoming series as Montreal now gets to face the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Now let’s clear the air of a few things so there’s no misunderstanding.
I dislike the Penguins. I dislike the Penguins. I dislike the Penguins. I dislike the Penguins. In summary, I hate the Penguins.
Therefore [...]

My apologies to Santonio Holmes; it appears that Santonio wouldn’t turn his iPod off when the plane was landing.
A report was filed but Holmes was not charged with anything.
again; Have fun coach Ryan. Let’s hope this experiment (Cromartie, Tomlinson & Holmes) doesn’t blow up right before a big game.
A First Look at Dez Bryant as a Cowboy
Written by thelandryhat | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | The Landry Hat (Cowboys)
By: Joe D.
According to early reports at the rookie practice, Dez Bryant is a spectacular player that catches everything in sight… and he is out of shape taking so many breaks that it calls attention to itself.
There is no reason to press the panic button. It is only one week after the draft, a heck of a celebration party, a week of press conferences, and dealing with a salacious story. But it is only 82 degree in Dallas, with 62% humidity. That is about as nice as the weather gets in Texas.
There were earlier reports of Bryant having an irregular heart beat. The [...]

ESPN investigates JaMarcus Russell hatred within Raider Nation
Written by Chris Shellcroft | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Just Blog Baby (Raiders)
Leave it to the Evil Sports Empire built on Raider Hatred to do an investigative report on JaMarcus Russell hatred among Raider Nation.
This Sunday, ESPN’s Outside the Lines will air a piece detailing the ever growing “ill-will” directed towards the Farce of the Franchise. Included in the story are images of Raider fans burning Russell related memorabilia in effigy and some colorful language being used to describe the hostile feelings for the Round Mound of Sit Down. Pretty much the same scene you’d expect to see in Denver when asking Donkey fans about Josh McDaniels.
Much like OTL’s Tom Cable witch [...]

Brett Favre Will Be Back in Minnesota With the Vikings
Written by Bob Cunningham | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | NFL Spin Zone (NFL)
Following a report today by ESPN’s Ed Werder that Brett Favre will need ankle surgery if he hopes to continue his career, several media outlets are saying they believe Favre could finally hang it up and retire — for good.
But anyone who thinks that just hasn’t been paying attention to Favre’s career. He’s easily the most competitive guy to ever hit a football field, and isn’t likely to quit playing until he can no longer walk. Favre has a well-publicized disdain for surgery, but has shown he’ll do it if it means being able to play for another season.
His ankle [...]

Thought you guys may need a little more tissue. I mean how does it feel, being eliminated from the first round in 4 of the last 5 years? We wouldn’t know how that feels or will never know how that feels.

Blazers 90, Suns 99 Game 6 Re-Thoughts
Written by SJ | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Rip City Project (Blazers)
The Portland Trail Blazers never gave up.
All season long, despite a ridiculous amount of adversity ranking from on-court injuries to front office drama, the Blazers never gave up. And that fact right there is the only thing that’s keep the sting of Game 6’s elimination away. This was a team to be proud of and it is only fitting that they went out in such a prideful way.
For all purposes, there were about 4 or 5 times in the 3rd quarter when the Blazers could have packed it in. They did not. They gave it everything they had, Phoenix just [...]
Favre Needs Surgery… And Attention
Written by Boomer | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Bear Goggles (Bears)
It wouldn’t be an offseason in the NFC North without trying to figure out what Brett Farve will do in the upcoming season. Favre-watch took an interesting turn today when #4 in Purple exchanged e-mails with ESPN’s Ed Werder, where he shared that he would need surgery in order to continue his career:
“We have spoken,” Favre said in an e-mail. “To play again, I would need the surgery, as I suspected. This decision would be easy if not for my teammates and the fans and the entire Vikings staff. One year truly felt like 10 — much like Green Bay [...]

The San Antonio Spurs came out and did what they needed to do. That was to not let the Mavericks get off to the start they did during Game Five in Dallas. Dallas took control of that game and well you guys know how that ended up.
We started off on fire, we held the Mavericks to 8 points, just 8 points in the first quarter as we were sitting comfortably with a 22 to 8 lead after one.
But we all know that this is a four quarter game [...]
Grading the Cleveland Browns’ 2010 NFL Draft
Written by Steve DiMatteo | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Dawg Pound Daily (Browns)
The Browns had a very eventful 2010 Draft, remaining active in trying to get players that would address specific, and glaring, needs. I’d say that was done well, considering how many needs this team actually has. Only time will tell how these players pan out in the league, but here are the initial grades for the Browns’ 2010 NFL Draft:
CB Joe Haden, Florida (1st round, 7th overall): It’s hard to argue with a pick that addresses the Browns’ secondary, an area of great concern heading into this off-season. If safety Eric Berry had been available here, there is little doubt [...]
Brett Favre Can’t Return for 2010 Without Ankle Surgery, May Retire Instead
Written by Dan Zinski | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | The Viking Age (Vikings)
We all saw the pictures of Brett Favre’s bruised ankle after the NFC Title Game. The image was nasty to be sure, but now it turns out, it was even worse than it looked.
According to a report by ESPN’s Ed Werder, the ankle is still giving Favre problems, and if he wants to play in 2010 he will have to undergo surgery.
That opinion comes via Dr. James Andrews, who also advised Favre last off-season when he was coming off a torn biceps tendon.
Without surgery on the bicep, Favre would not have been able to play again. [...]
