Arenas sued by gun company

Written by Spence | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | FanSided

Gilbert Arenas is in gun trouble again — and this time he’s found a way to get in trouble for guns he doesn’t even have in his possession. Tactical Operations, a high-end gun seller, is suing Gil for over $70,000.
According to the lawsuit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Arenas bought five custom Beretta pistols with five silencers in February of 2006.  Arenas paid for the guns, BUT….
Tactical Operations claims Arenas never took possession of the weapons — and owes the company over $70,000 in storage fees and interest.
Gilbert is nothing if not creative. Gets convicted of a crime [...]

Written by AirAlamo_Mike | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Air Alamo (Spurs)

Source: Yardbarker.com

You are probably like me and are not shocked to hear that Cleveland’s LeBron James will be named the Most Valuable Player.  He is scheduled to receive the trophy on Monday when his Cavaliers take on the Boston Celtics in Round 2 of the playoffs.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Brian Windhorst, the go-to source for any news about LeBron James, just confirmed the news that James will win the Most Valuable Player award, adding that James will accept the award Monday night.

Giants and Purple Mountain Coors Beer Things Preview

Written by Eze | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Frisco Fastball (Giants)

Fresh off a 4-2 (should have been 5-1) excellent showing versus the Cardinals and Phillies, the Giants will end their tough 9-game home stand versus the increasingly hated Rockies. The Rockies come into San Francisco just like the Phillies did, losers of 2 of 3 versus the Arizona Diamondbacks in Arizona. The Rockies sit 1.5 [...]

Santonio Holmes escorted off airplane

Written by Marc A. Greenberg | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | The J-E-T Press (Jets)

The fun begins.  Coach Ryan, get ready.
Channel 2 in Pittsburgh is reporting that Jets WR Santonio Holmes had to be escorted off an airplane last night in Pittsburgh International because of disruptive behavior.
Allegedly, Holmes was asked to turn off his iPod before the plane took off and he refused. Eventually he was allowed back on the plane after complying with officials.
I’m sure the passengers loved to have to sit on the plane for who knows how long because Santonio needed to hear his music.

Arrowhead Adventures – A Priest Holmes Moment

Written by Randy5k-Arrowhead Adventurer | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Arrowhead Addict (Chiefs)

I have never been much of a statistics guy Addicts. I get my stats and opinions from the other staffers here at AA. I can say with pride they are the best in the business. What I am is a game day guy. A game day experience guy. And this is one game day experience guy who can’t freaking wait to get back to Arrowhead. As I post this, I am out the door for a two day muskie tournament, my other obsession. Paddy, feel free to move it around as you see fit. By the way, how proud am [...]

Redskins Round Table: Draft edition, part 2

Written by Spence | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | FanSided

In Round 1 of our Redskins Round Table: Draft edition, we talked about the Redskins draft with John Pappas of Redskins Confidential, Rich Tandler of Comcast Sportsnet Washington and Rick Snider of The Washington Examiner. We also asked the same questions of John Keim of The Washington Examiner, but his deadlines forced him to get back to us a bit later than the others. Because we value John’s opinions on all Redskins matters, we’re adding a second part of the draft edition. Read on.
1. Do you like the Trent Williams selection or not?
I preferred Russell Okung; he seemed to be [...]

The Road to Dallas Begins Today!

Written by Travis Pulver | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Naptown's Finest (Colts)

Some may consider the road to the next Super Bowl as beginning the day after a team is eliminated from the current chase; me personally, I don’t think a team can conceivably start towards another goal without putting the failure to reach another one behind them first. Basically, you need down time; time to recover. That’s what teams have been getting up till now.
Minicamp begins for most of the NFL’s teams today, including the Indianapolis Colts (Arizona, Carolina, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Kansas City, Miami, Minnesota, New England, the New York Giants and Jets, Oakland, Philadelphia, [...]

Shock And Awe: The Official Logo

Written by Patrick Allen | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Arrowhead Addict (Chiefs)

You may remember the other day I announced the winning AA nicknames for the Jamaal Charles/Thomas Jones RB tandem. We decided on “Shock and Awe” for the tandem and “Haley’s Comet” for Charles alone.
I made a call for reader submissions of an official AA logo for these nicknames and reader Joe R. stepped up and designed a pretty bad ass logo for Charles and Jones. (T-shirts may follow).
Thus, I present to you, the official AA logo for “Shock and Awe!”

Props to Joe for doing a kick ass job!
We still need something for Jamaal Charles, AKA, “Haley’s Comet.” If anyone out [...]

Titan’s Chris Johnson Misses Second Practice

Written by Nick Ewing | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Titan Sized (Titans)

The Tennessee Titans held their second on-field practice of the week on Thursday and once again Chris Johnson was absent.  It is well-known at this point that Johnson desires an improved contract over the $12 million deal he signed in 2008 and has three years left on.  It’s a shame that something couldn’t have been worked out during the off-season because the last thing this team needs right now are distractions, even at this very early point in the year.
Johnson’s absence from camp should be a surprise to nobody.  He began talking about wanting more money as he was lying [...]

2011 NFL Mock Draft

Written by trippc | April 30, 2010 | Comments Off | The Ebony Bird (Ravens)

With the 2010 NFL Draft grades in the books, it’s time to take a sneak peak at the 2011 Draft before Todd McShay beats us to it.
*Draft order is based on 2010 Schedules and team’s “on paper” rosters. Obviously it is purely speculative and subject to extreme change, that’s why we play the game right?
1. Buffalo Bills – Jake Locker QB (Washington)
The Bills failed to address left tackle and quarterback this off-season, which means they’ll likely struggle again next year. Locker may be able to turn things around for them for 2011, as the most talented and NFL ready QB [...]
