Matt Bowen, former Washington Redskins safety and current National Football Post reporter, writes that DT Albert Haynesworth missing OTAs normally may not have been a big deal, but with a new system, it is.
I have written about OTAs before, and I am not a big fan of calling out players for missing sessions. But when a new system and playbook is installed in the spring, act like a pro and do your job. Why? Because coaches don’t want to waste valuable meeting time during training camp. NFL coaches are always looking forward, so having to [...]

The Next PhinPhanatic.com Star: Writers Update
Written by Brian Miller | May 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Phin Phanatic (Dolphins)
O.k. late last night I put up an article letting our readers know that I am currently looking for two new writers for this site. I figured I would get a few submissions. Instead, I have about 30 and it hasn’t been one day yet. Needless to say, there are a lot of opinionated Dolphins fans out there (or they just don’t like me as a writer and can do better…maybe both). Which is a good thing!!!
So here is what I have decided to do. Instead of me making a decision I will leave it up to the ones who [...]

Jon Jansen Believes he’s a Starter
Written by Joe Dexter | May 31, 2010 | Comments Off | SideLion Report (Lions)
The days of finding players to plug the holes in the offensive line are nothing new for the Detroit Lions organization.
At the right tackle position, The Lions regime are hoping that Gosder Cherilus can return to the field from injury and work on some of the boneheaded mistakes of his past.
Jason Fox was brought in through the draft this year to be molded into the tackle of the future. His talent isn’t in question, but he will have to learn how to play the tempo of offense that is the NFL. There probably isn’t a real good chance for him [...]

A Time To Remember…
Written by Daniel Correia | May 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Daily DDT (Wrestling)
Today is Memorial Day, and I would like to remember all the troops who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this great country of ours. Thank you for all that you have done! To all the troops stationed overseas, God bless you for what you do! I don’t have the guts to do something like that. You are true heroes! Also too, please remember the families of all our troops, they’ve given up a lot to let their children, husbands, and wives go to fight for us.
As I was writing this, a few wrestling memories came back to me from [...]

New Orleans Saints: Does LB Harry Coleman’s Arrest Hurt His Chance To Make The Final Roster?
Written by Keith Null | May 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Who Dat Dish (Saints)
Free agent linebacker Harry Coleman was arrested on simple battery charges last week by Chitimacha Tribe Police for yet unknown reasons.
Coleman, a former standout at SS/OLB for LSU, was signed as an undrafted free agent promptly after the draft on April 27th by the Saints to compete for a roster spot at linebacker and or special teams.
In 2009 he made the move from strong safety to outside linebacker his senior year and responded by becoming the Tigers most valuable player posting 82 tackles, four sacks, three fumble recoveries and nine tackles for loss.
Coleman though really made a name for himself as a special [...]

Artest Regrets
Written by Josh Dhani | May 31, 2010 | Comments Off | Always Miller Time (Pacers)
Ron Artest has certainly matured throughout the years in his time with the NBA.
We’ve seen him from the Chicago Bulls, then with the Indiana Pacers, then Kings, and Rockets.
Now he is with the Los Angeles Lakers, most notably coming off a buzzer-beater to beat the Phoenix Suns and help close out the series in Game Six.
Now Artest is in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics and look to receive his first ever NBA ring.
But he says he wouldn’t be here after learning his lessons with the Indiana Pacers’ organizations.
He just told CBS.com [...]
