Son of Former Eagle Cunningham Dies Tragically

Written by Adam MacDonald | June 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Inside the Iggles (Eagles), NFL

Terrible news today came out of Las Vegas today, as the 2 and half year old son of former Eagles great QB Randall Cunningham died tragically when he drowned in a the families hot tub. Cunningham’s son, Christian, was found in the hot tub at around 4:30pm yesterday. Rescuers attempted to save his life, but sadly they were unable to do so.
“It appears that it’s just a complete tragedy … It only takes a brief minute for someone to take their eye off the child.”  – Metro Lt. Dennis Flynn.
I know this news has been shared by many other Eagles [...]

No truth to the Melo trade

Written by madness | June 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Nugg Love (Nuggets)

Reports that the Denver Nuggets may trade Carmelo Anthony if he doesn’t sign the extension have been greatly over exaggerated.  Of course if you just read the headline, it just says it is a possibility. Signing Chris Bosh is also a possibility, however neither situation is likely.
Also the story was written by Mark Kiszla and his job is to blow things out of proportion and get fans riled up, and in this case he did just that.
No where in the story it says the Nuggets are thinking about it, no where in the story is a quote or a source from the Nuggets [...]

Dwight Howard Wants Carlos Boozer & Chris Paul

Written by Andrew Melnick | June 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Howard the Dunk (Magic)

After discussing Gilbert Arenas and the Magic Tuesday, Ken Berger of CBS Sports was back at it Wednesday.
On the eve of the most anticipated free-agent signing period since 1996, when Howard was 10 years old, the Magic center has formulated a short list of players he’d like GM Otis Smith to pursue this summer. No. 1 on the list, according to a person with close ties to Orlando management, is Hornets point guard Chris Paul.
Reports in the past week have noted that Orlando was one of several teams to inquire about Paul’s availability – mostly after CP3 was quoted as [...]

The Atlanta Braves Welcome Back Jair Jurrjens

Written by Kris Willis | June 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Tomahawk Talk (Braves)

Jair Jurrjens will make his anticipated return to the Braves rotation tonight against the Washington Nationals. Jurrjens just completed a rehab stint with mixed results and the most pessimistic of Braves fans would point out that he wasn’t pitching very well before he got hurt (0-3, 6.38) in five starts.
If the time off did Jurrjens well and he can recapture the form that he had last season when he was a 14 game winner with a 2.60 ERA then the Braves just got a major weapon back as they pursue the Eastern Division crown. Jurrjens was thought of [...]

Predicted Top 10 Denver Broncos Headlines

Written by Kim Constantinesco | June 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Predominantly Orange (Broncos)

You can now follow Predominantly Orange on Facebook. Type PredominantlyOrange.com into the search box and “like” the page.
New players, a new schedule, and plenty of headlines have and will continue to surround Dove Valley. Last year around this time, I tried to predict some of the top Broncos headlines that we would see during the season. As you can see, I was not too far off with some of them (the teacher did become the student for one game), but was far off on other headlines (Eddie Royal was certainly no king).
As Josh McDaniels starts his second season, I’m going to [...]

2010 Is The Moment Of Truth In The Jared Allen Trade

Written by Patrick Allen | June 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Arrowhead Addict (Chiefs)

When the Kansas City Chiefs traded All Pro Defensive End Jared Allen to the Minnesota Vikings prior to the 2008 draft, I was furious. I have never liked the idea of giving up productive, proven players for draft picks and prospects. The NFL Draft is a crap shoot and you never know what you are going to get, whether you are picking first or seventy first.
The deal was made to unload Allen before he had the chance to unload Kansas City. Allen hated then Chiefs GM Carl Peterson and he was unlikely to hang around once his contract was up. [...]

UFC bans vuvuzelas from UFC 116

Written by Josh Sanchez | June 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Cage Pages (MMA)

Unless you have been living under a rock or had the luxury of a mute button over the past month, you have heard the angry swarm of bees during every broadcast at the World Cup in South Africa. That sound — a vuvuzela — has become more popular and fans have been bringing the horns with them to various sporting events.
However, don’t expect to hear the sound anytime soon near an octagon. The Ultimate Fighting Championship has banned the horn for their upcoming event, “UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin.”
“This decision was pretty simple for me,” president Dana White said on [...]
