Corner back Danny Gorrer was re-claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Rams today and will join the Saints just in time for their upcoming training camp July 29th.
Gorrer was signed last season as undrafted rookier free agent out of Texas A&M by the Saints. He spent the entire off-season with the team faring well but was signed to the practice squad before the start of the 2009-2010 season
He was then signed by the Rams off the Saints practice squad in November of last year.

Recently, FanGraphs writer and friend of the Maniac Joe Pawlikowski wrote an interesting article on the “problem” the Marlins have regarding first base. Right now, Gaby Sanchez is the man, and he’s looking like it. Going into the season, we would have taken a .340-ish wOBA performance from Sanchez, but after a slide took his slash line to .266/.344/.411 on June 5, he has ripped through opposing pitchers to the tune of .400/.449/.625, with four homers, four doubles, eight walks, and only nine strikeouts. In a new article featured in the NY Post by Marc Berman, Berman reports Fox Business Network interviewed a real estate agent who acknowledged Lebron looked at a $13 million condo this past weekend in Greenwich Village.

The “Stand for Stan” campaign put together by 101 ESPN and the St. Louis Cardinals reached a high point yesterday with a full day dedicated to Stan the Man. The fans left their thoughts on Musial on video. Cardinals President Bill DeWitt and St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay also gave their best to the campaign for Musial to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

St. Louis goes for the sweep today at home against Arizona. The Cards have yet to complete a three-game sweep this season despite plenty of chances. Another chance comes against a scuffling Arizona team set to throw rookie pitcher Barry Enright who will be making his major league debut. Enright will undoubtedly be nervous, so this is a golden opportunity for the Cards to get the elusive sweep of the three-game series. Willie Colon suffered a season ending Achilles tendon tear and will be out for the entire 2010 season. Flozell Adams, a 12 year veteran at left tackle may switch to the right side to replace Colon. It appears that this Disabled List stint will cost Jason Heyward a chance to play in this year’s All Star Game. Heyward told the AJC that he wouldn’t participate if chosen due to the injury to his thumb.
