Allllright. I’m finally back on top of my life, unfortunately the Leafs aren’t on top of their game, as evidenced by the pair of losses they served up this weekend in Buffalo and Ottawa. Thankfully, the Buds return home tonight, for their game against the Lightning. At the ACC, Toronto has put together a semi-respectable 6-4-2 record, while they have just been dismal on the road, going 2-7-1.
Jonas Gustavsson will get the start again, although Jean-Sebastian Giguere came out today and announced that he was “physically ready” to play, according to the Toronto Star. Up front, Ron Wilson moved Nazem [...]

Please, Enough Drama Already! Blues Visit Chicago
Written by Tim Currell | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Blackhawk Up (Blackhawks)
It’s been an exciting few days for Blackhawks fans, as we wound down the Circus Trip with four wins, our star winger got injured at practice, and the phrase “goalie controversy” threatened to rear its ugly head again. But we’ll get to that in a minute. The task at hand are the boys in blue and gold, and game time is not even 12 hours away.
St. Louis has been one of the surprise teams of the season so far. Following the off-season acquisition of goaltender Jaroslav Halak, the Blues got out of the gate on a tear, going 9-1-2 in [...]
Matty Nice
Written by Lyle Graversen | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Arrowhead Addict (Chiefs)
Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Matt Cassel is having a great season. For those of us that consider ourselves die hard Chiefs fans this is a common topic of conversation. It started out as a debate on if he should even be the QB or not and has shifted into a discussion on just how good he is. However, that conversation is currently restricted to those that follow the Chiefs. With the national media, Cassel (along with the KC offense in general) is flying under the radar.
Monday morning on ESPN and national sports talk radio the conversation [...]
Is Losing Juan Uribe That Bad?
Written by Bryan | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Frisco Fastball (Giants)
In a word, no.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love Juan, for a variety of reasons. He’s hilarious and a fantastic clubhouse guy. He’s always had a thing for the clutch moment and he was (despite his horrible batting average) an intricate cog in the Giants World Series run.
But for all the good Juan brings, he certainly has a long list of downfalls as well.
Some might take this as a broken heart bashing, but, it’s far from it. Most of us would have made the same choice as EW-REEE-BAY. He’s forever been a back burner player. That guy that you [...]
Rule 5 Draft Possibilities: Position Players
Written by Jared Macdonald | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Jays Journal (Blue Jays)
In the Rule 5 Draft there are always a considerable amount of minor league arms to roll the dice on, some covered in my prior post, but there are also some position players who are definitely worth considering too.
Here’s a look at some of the most notable position players available in this year’s edition of the Rule 5 Draft, with their 2010 MLB parent club in parentheses:
IF/OF Corey Wimberly (Athletics):
Initially taken in the 6th round of the 2005 draft by the Rockies, Wimberly spent the entire 2010 season playing for the AAA Sacramento River Cats in the Pacific Coast [...]
The Butch Is Back!
Written by Jeremy Glenn | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Gone Puck Wild (Wild)
Wild.com is reporting that Pierre-Marc Bouchard will make his return to the line-up Wednesday night.
Barring any setbacks in the next 24 hours, Head Coach Todd Richards will write Bouchard’s name on the Wild’s roster tomorrow night when the Phoenix Coyotes visit Xcel Energy Center.
Join me after the jump.
When the Wild had demoted Matt Kassian, leaving the team with only 11 forwards, speculation was that the team would call up a forward tomorrow or that Chuck Kobasew would be ready to return. The question as to who would fill that spot was answered today, however, when the team announced [...]
Former Browns QB Derek Anderson Has Eventful Postgame (Video)
Written by Steve DiMatteo | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Dawg Pound Daily (Browns), NFL
I bet Derek Anderson is longing for the days back in 2007 when Browns fans were lavishing praise on the gunslinger, only to discover his flaws as a quarterback as the season wore on. Despite playing his way out of Cleveland, Anderson is now the starter with the Arizona Cardinals and, as you might have guessed, it’s not going so well.
On Monday, the Cardinals – looking pre-Kurt Warner hapless – lost to the San Francisco 49ers to fall to 3-8. The Monday Night Football cameras caught Anderson apparently laughing about something on the sidelines near the end of the game [...]
$3 Beer at The Jake!
Written by Marc Bigelow | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Wahoo's on First (Indians)
No, I will not call it Progressive Field.
On Thursday night, after Dwyane Wade’s Miami Heat visit the Cavaliers at the Q, the Indians are offering $10 unlimited ice skating and snow tubing at Snow Days. On top of that, there will also be $3 beer(!), $2 soda and $1 hot dogs available. That’s a pretty sweet deal for all involved, but I can’t help but feel a little hosed as a Tribe fan.
Where’s my $3 beer on a hot summer day?
Ticket prices in Cleveland are some of the lowest in baseball, and that’s a good start. However, do you, the [...]
The End of the Gradkowski Era?
Written by Chris Shellcroft | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Just Blog Baby (Raiders)
On a meaningless play in a game in which the outcome was already decided, Tom Cable’s contrived quarterback carousel came to a halt. After sustaining yet another injury to his continually damaged shoulder, Bruce Gradkowski underwent an MRI on Monday and is now rumored to be done for the rest of the season…again.
This marks two years a row that Bruce Almighty has seen his season cut short. It also marks the second consecutive year in which Coach Cable has, supposedly, battled with Al Davis over who should be the starting QB.
While last year was a first round knock out given [...]
Butler Bulldogs Basketball 2010-2011: Were Expectations Set Too High?
Written by hickoryhuskers24 | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Always Miller Time (Pacers), NCAA
Returning from last year’s magical Final Four run, the Butler coaches, team and fans hoped that maybe, just maybe, this year’s team had it in them to make some more noise on the national stage.
That confidence, which was rightfully earned, allowed them to go out and schedule tough games like at Louisville, Duke on a neutral site, at Xavier and Stanford at home.
However, this team doesn’t seem like it can take on that tough schedule the Butler front office has put ahead of them. Maybe last year’s team could, but this is definitely not [...]

Some Cool Links from Eight Points, Nine Seconds
Written by Josh Dhani | November 30, 2010 | Comments Off | Always Miller Time (Pacers), NBA
Fellow Indiana Pacers blog Eight Points, Nine Seconds shared some interesting links.
One was about Rupert, the guy from Survivor, repping the Indiana Pacers.
Since I am 13 years old and in eighth grade, I had to share my story on this. This guy came to my school back in 6th grade and he shared a lot of interesting stories for us. Pretty cool guy, none the less.
Hoopism passed on this cool word cloud of which player had the most minutes for each team (via 8p9s). Not surprised who has the most amount of minutes:
Also, the Pacers are getting a lot of [...]
Meet Scott Hannan

The Capitals have traded Tomas Fleischmann to Colorado for Defenseman Scott Hannan, so we figured this would be a good time to get to know our new blue liner. The following video is from 2006 when he was with the San Jose Sharks, and we’ll follow…
