The Panthers said they were looking to find a veteran quarterback to bring in to help mentor young quarterbacks Cam Newton and Jimmy Clausen and it seems as though the front office believes that mentor could be former Arizona Cardinal quarterback &#823…

Now, it is time for a change and Kreutz made it clear that he was ready to move on from the Bears after turning down a $4 million, one-year offer. Now that he has turned down the Bears offer, he needs to consider other options. Everything to Prove – Previewing Maryland Women’s Soccer

Written by zackward | July 31, 2011 | Comments Off | Terrapin Station (Maryland)

Editor’s Note: Fall sports are around the corner, so we’re going to start previewing the teams for the upcoming season. Here’s part one of our two-part women’s soccer preview, written by Zack Ward. Image from DiamondbackOnline In the days and months that followed Maryland women’s soccer’s shocking elimination from the second round of the NCAA tournament, the accolades paying tribute to their historic regular season came pouring in one after another, perhaps making the nausea of their postseason shortcomings all the worse. The number-one seeded Terrapins (18-2-3), a Final Four favorite, lost in a shootout to unseeded Georgetown (15-7-2) on [...]

Vonta Leach Thoughts From Toro Times

Written by Riley B | July 31, 2011 | Comments Off | The Ebony Bird (Ravens)

When Baltimore signed former Texans fullback Vonta Leach this morning, I reached out to Joe Owens, Fansided’s Houston Texan’s blogger, and asked for his thoughts on the Ravens acquiring Leach. He had this to say about Vonta: Vonta Leach won’t be easily replaced. The Texans have been grooming Tight end James Casey in case this very thing happened. They also signed two undrafted rookie free agent fullbacks all in an attempt to find Leach’s replacement. While these guys may be able to physically lay down a crushing block to spring Arian Foster. What they won’t be able to replace, at least [...]

Busy Sunday for the Redskins

Written by Tom Blaz | July 31, 2011 | Comments Off | DC Pro Sports Report (D.C.)

The Redskins enjoyed an off day from training camp but the front office stayed busy with a pair of fairly substantial moves. First, the Redskins re-signed offensive tackle Jammal Brown to a five year contract. Brown was acquired from the New Orleans Saints via trade a year ago and by retaining him, the Redskins appear set at the all important tackle positions along the offensive line. Brown is 6’6″ 315 and is equally adept at playing on the left or right side. Brown was chosen 13th overall in the 2005 NFL draft out of the University of Oklahoma and has [...]
