Barnett headed to Buffalo

Written by apackphan | July 31, 2011 | Comments Off | LombardiAve (Packers)

Nick Barnett is headed to Buffalo to be a Bill. Raymond T. Rivard photograph Cripes, things are moving so fast in the NFL these days that the minute you write something about someone, it changes. It’s almost like buying a PC and going back to the store 15 minutes later to find a newer “better” version of what you just bought. Well, such is the case with Nick Barnett. I wrote 30 minutes ago the Buffalo Bills MAY be interested in his services. Not just a few minutes after posting that blog … it seems it was confirmed. … [visit [...]

Abram Elam hints at deal with Cowboys on Twitter

Written by Logan Burdine | July 31, 2011 | Comments Off | The Landry Hat (Cowboys)

Based on Abram Elam’s Twitter feed this afternoon, a deal with the Cowboys is probably imminent. In the four tweets below, Elam all but says he will soon be a Cowboy. The most convincing to me is the last one, when he simply retweeted a reference to the Big Screen. Elam isn’t the most glamorous addition, but he does make the Cowboys better than they were last year at safety. Bags Packed RT @cowboyfan72: @abeelam You know your going to be a cowboy, get what you can get and pack your bags Big D is waiting, need me to call Jerry & [...]

James Jones signs three-year deal with Packers

Written by apackphan | July 31, 2011 | Comments Off | LombardiAve (Packers)

We're not sure how much influence Aaron Rodgers had with the team's negotiations with James Jones, but the receiver signed a three-year deal this morning. Raymond T. Rivard photograph It’s not surprising the news came just a few minutes ago via Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel … The Packers have agreed to terms with wide receive James Jones. Terms of the deal are not yet available. And it seems that Jones had some heavy hitters go to bat for him. We all know that Aaron Rodgers went public last week, saying that James Jones should be priority number [...]

The Rams need an experienced backup RB & is the NFC West a division to watch?

Written by Darryn Yates | July 31, 2011 | Comments Off | Ramblin' Fan (Rams)

I can’t believe I am about to say this, but the NFC West could be an exciting division to watch in the 2011 version of the NFL. The Seahawks, Cardinals, and Rams are all making some very respectable moves. Perhaps even Alex Smith and Jim Harbaugh…
