Chiefs 23 – Chargers 20: Rivers Fumbles the Game Away
Written by Ernie Padaon | October 31, 2011 | Comments Off | Bolt Beat (Chargers)
What a pathetic showing by the Chargers AGAIN!!!We found a new way to lose a game today. With less than a minute left in the game and within field goal range to take the victory, Philip Rivers and the center could not connect on the snap and turned the…
NFL Power Rankings Week 8: AFC West Movers and Shakers (Chiefs Up, Chargers Fumble Game Away, Broncos Just Bad)
Written by Jesse Bartolis | October 31, 2011 | Comments Off | NFL Mocks
Time for the weekly power rankings. This week has seen a lot of movement because of some absolutely pitiful performances. The Charges tried as many ways as possible to lose the games vs the Chiefs, what’s up with Philip Rivers this season by the way? After a few huge seasons, he has been bad this year. Heading into the game he had 7 touchdowns to 9 interceptions and after four quarters of football, he had 7 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a huge botched fumble. 32. Indianapolis Colts (Previously Colts) I thought the Colts had enough pride to put together a [...]

A Look Ahead to November
Written by Myles Robinson | October 31, 2011 | Comments Off | Editor in Leaf (Maple Leafs)
The Leafs’ weekend was almost mirrored by my own. Had a great start to the weekend, partying in NYC, and then stumbled on a minor inconvenience when I left my phone in a cab, never to be seen again. The Leafs kicked off their Halloween weekend with a rousing win over the league-leading Pittsburgh Penguins, then couldn’t close the deal on the road against an upstart Ottawa team. Had to be impressed with the win over Pittsburgh, even if Brent Johnson was in net and the ‘Guins are a bit banged up. Tim Connolly looks to be fitting in nicely, [...]

The Chase for 36
Written by Kevin Scobee | October 31, 2011 | Comments Off | Kings of Kauffman (Royals)
This season there were just 8 in total. In 2010 there were just 6. In 2009 there were 13. In 2008, there were 11. A comment from Brilliant Reader PM* “royal_in_cincinnati” on my post a while back about Mike Moustakas really got me thinking as baseball turns its collective thoughts towards free agency. He said that while I was trying to preach a little patience with the younger players on the Royals roster, and not to jump to any conclusions about what level of production they will have next season, that he “still believe(s) Moustakas developes that 35-40 (home run) power…” [...]
Trick or Treat? Bud and Frank Close to Settlement
Written by Mr. LA Sports Fan | October 31, 2011 | Comments Off | The 110 Report (LA)
For Dodger fans, a bright future might be on the horizon. Bill Shaikin of the LA Times reports that Frank McCourt is nearing a deal with Bud Selig and Major League Baseball in which McCourt would sell the team. Before you start uncorking the champagne, understand that Shaikin points out talks are “fluid” and “could fall apart.” Still, it’s big news that negotiations would reach this point in the first place, considering it was only a few months ago that we heard Frank say he would pass ownership on to his sons. Talks of a settlement sparked last week after [...]

New York Jets - [...]

A’s Putting Gio Gonzalez On the Trade Block?
Written by Joseph Lopez | October 31, 2011 | Comments Off | Swingin' A's (Athletics)
Trade Bait: Is Gio Gonzalez going to be traded? Somewhere listed on ESPN.com’s MLB Rumor mill is the suggestion that the A’s are out to make Gio Gonzalez the next Dan Haren. By that they mean the A’s could look to trade Gonzalez, while his stock is still rising, in order to stockpile on younger talent. The A’s are pushing for a new venue outside of Oakland, but the team is still waiting for MLB to make a decision regarding the team’s request to build a ballpark in San Jose. The A’s, if they’re granted permission to move, would [...]
