Full Team Effort Leads To Convincing Win Against Sharks

Written by Adam Herman | October 31, 2011 | Comments Off | Blue Line Station (Rangers)

A much deserved "First Star" for Ryan Callahan tonight. Usually days in which the Rangers are playing have a little bit of extra jump in them. But for the first time since I can remember I was not anxiously waiting for the game to start. That’s mainly the result of the flat play of the Rangers to start the season. So of course the Rangers come out with their most convincing win of the season. The score of the game against the Canucks was nicer. The overtime victory against the Flames was more dramatic. But tonight the Rangers won like [...]

Hurricanes on Track for Third-Worst Rush Defense in School History

Written by Danny Hobrock | October 31, 2011 | Comments Off | Canes Warning (Miami)

One of the storylines for the Hurricanes this season has been an obvious struggle to stop teams from running the football. If this year’s Hurricanes continue along the path they’re on now, they’re headed for the team’s second-consecutive top-five worst rush defense in school history. The 1997 Canes, who finished 5-6, allowed the second most rushing yards in school history at 2,419 yards, and last year’s team came in third with 2,246 rushing yards allowed. [...]

Not only should you not be surprised that the Brewers defense was not on the minds of all Gold Glove voters, but you should also not be surprised that it is Ryan Braun.  It’s a two-for one deal on lack of surprise gum (there’s no gum). &#8…

Fun With Basketball Reference — The 2011-12 Doppelgänger Milwaukee Bucks!!!

Written by K L Chouinard | October 31, 2011 | Comments Off | We're Bucked (Bucks)

Player comparisons are back on Basketball Reference. Yes!!!! In honor of their return, we here at We’re Bucked are taking a look at the comparable players for each Buck expected on the roster in 2011-12 (i.e., players under contract and restricted free agent Mbah a Moute). Keep in mind that the parallels drawn are purely numerical, and they make no attempt to account for each player’s on-court style.  As noted in a blog post on the same site, It is important to note that this method does not attempt to find players who were similar in style of play. Rather, [...]
