The Andrei Markov frenzy

Written by Jared Book | November 30, 2011 | Comments Off | A Winning Hab-it (Canadiens)

Note: I would like to apologize for lack of activity. I was dealing with a brutal cold but posting should resume regularly. Everyone needs to relax. Yesterday, people were saying that Markov could return for tonight’s game against the Anaheim Ducks. Then, this afternoon Markov was absent from the team’s [...]

Mets Closer Watch: Who’s Been Taken and Who’s Left

Written by Aaron Leibowitz | November 30, 2011 | Comments Off | Rising Apple (Mets)

Sandy Alderson worked some magic before the 2011 trade deadline to get Francisco Rodriguez and his vesting option off the team’s hands.  But after the Bobby Parnell experiment didn’t quite work out, Sandy and the Mets are now in search of a new ninth-inning man.  A closer signing will likely be the only splash the team makes make this winter — unless, of course, they re-sign Jose Reyes.  Though it’s been a slow offseason in MLB so far, several free-agent closers already have new homes, and Alderson will likely be working hard at next week’s winter meetings to strike a [...]

Recapping a November to remember

Written by Greg Thurston | November 30, 2011 | Comments Off | Climbing Tal's Hill (Astros)

(Chris Rutsch/ CT Whale) It wasn’t a lack of ice time that made it difficult to spot the forward. It was his speed that turned him into a green, blue and white blur for the Connecticut Whale. New York Rangers fans have now gotten their first true look at Hagelin, who has debuted in the NHL with a goal and and two assists in his first three games. [...]
