Late Wednesday afternoon, we got the news we all feared that CB Brent Grimes will be forced to miss some playing time, after minor surgery on the knee injury that was re aggravated during the Vikings game last Sunday. Grimes, has been stunning so far this season in coverage, shutting down the opponents’ best receiver allowing our Defense to do a lot of different things. His absence will really be felt as he is arguably the most important cog on this defense and without him our pass defense will certainly be weaker. Unfortunately, the bad news doesn’t stop there as the ideal replacement on the roster for [...]

Bobby Valentine and the Boston Red Sox want the same things. Discipline in the clubhouse is one thing because you don’t play video games, smoke cigars and screw around on Valentine’s watch. The other thing on the wish list is a World Series title. Red Sox owners aren’t shelling out their millions for guys to fall apart in September. The hiring of Valentine as the next manager of the Red Sox makes sense for the organization and is just what he wanted, too. Valentine wants to show that if you give him enough talent he can win the big one for [...]

As Jordan mentioned earlier this week, the Cubs front office has been close to the vest regarding potential roster moves this off season. Much of the start of the Cubs offseason for the newly built front office surrounded the hiring of a manager, which contrary to player rumors so far, had been very public, as evidenced by the practice run press conferences Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer used as part of the interview process. The latest rumors that have surfaced over the last few days has been whether or not the Cubs are seriously pursuing free agent first basemen Albert [...]

Seattle Prep won what turned out to be a thrilling game against Lakeside, 64-59. The game itself was an exciting one and came down to the final few minutes before it was decided. The teams are loaded with D-1 talent and both Oregon State and UC Irvine were in attendance. Here are my thoughts from the game: Lakeside Lakeside is officially back in the picture for 3A Metro league. They can compete at a high level and will string together a good amount of wins this year. Tramaine Isabell is one of the main reasons why, this 2014 guard is [...]

Theo Epstein just made his first significant move with the Cubs, as the team signed quality right fielder David DeJesus to a two-year deal worth $10 million in guaranteed money according to Jon Heyman. This was a downright steal, because $5 million is what a team pays a 1.2 WAR player; DeJesus is better than that. He had a down year at the dish last season, yet he was still worth 2.2 WAR. He will be 32 in December, but DeJesus has not shown signs of decline and will actually be better at the plate next season. The Cubs paid [...]
