The United States remains atop the beach volleyball world as Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings continued their world dominance on way to a third Olympic gold medal. May-Treanor and Walsh Jennings took down fellow Americans Jennifer Kessy and April Ross, 21-16, 21-16, in the gold medal match.
It was an impressive Olympic debut for Kessy and Ross who will look to continue the trend of American beach volleyball gold in the coming games.
May-Treanor and Walsh Jennings remain undefeated through the Athens, Beijing and London games. They only dropped one out of forty-three sets during their championship runs. This was the last Olympic games for May-Treanor who has said she would like to have children.
