The honeymoon is over for Chad Jonson and his new bride. Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson has been arrested and booked on domestic violence charges. The argument between the two that led to the violence was allegedly started over a receipt for condoms that Johnson’s wife Evelyn Lozada found. Sources say Johnson head butted his wife, prompting the 911 call.
NFL.com later reported that Evelyn Lozada found a box of condoms in Johnson’s car which sparked the fight that Johnson apparently and very foolishly, finished with his head.
Johnson allegedly hit his wife so hard on the head that he lacerated her forehead.

Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin publicly said that he wasn’t pleased with Johnson’s language, as heard on the HBO show Hard Knocks. If Philbin didn’t like Johnson’s language, he’s going to be less then pleased with this latest incident.
No word has come down from the NFL nor the Miami Dolphins elaborating on the situation or potential punishment for Johnson.
As annoying as some find Johnson’s antics on the field, this is a total and complete out-of-character move for the artist formerly known as Ochocinco. Johnson has been a handful in terms of unsporstmanlike and over the top celebrations on the field, but he’s never been a problem child outside the gridiron. With the severity of this situation and Johnson’s dwindling relevance and talent on the football field, this could end up being a fatal incident for both Johnson’s football career and his new marriage.
