The Jamaican sprinters continued their dominance on the 2012 London Olympics track today during the men’s 4 x 100-meter relay. The Jamaicans took the gold medal in a blazing time of 36.85 seconds. Jamaica’s time was the first ever under thirty seven seconds and it is your new world record.
The Jamaican teams star studded line-up featured Nesta Carter, Michael Frater, Yohan Blake and living legend Usain Bolt.
Team USA — which included Trell Kimmons, Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay and Ryan Bailey –Â finished in second place and set a new national record with a time of 37.04 seconds which happens to be the old world record mark.
Canada finished in third-place but was disqualified. With the Canadians being disqualified, Trinidad and Tobago took the bronze.
The gold medal for Jamaica is the third gold for Bolt in the 2012 Olympic games. It is the first gold in London for Blake, who took silver behind Bolt in the 100-meter and 200-meter.
