Veteran wide receiver Plaxico Burress is still looking to find a home and he could be one step closer to finding that landing spot. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Burress is on his way to New England to work out for the Patriots.
Free-agent WR Plaxico Burress is flying today to New England to work out for the Patriots, the team he helped beat in SBXLII. More on ESPN.

The move would help bring some depth to the Patriots receiving corp and would be a classic Bill Belichick move. If the Patriots were to sign Burress, there would be no risk to signing the one time star receiver. Burress could still contribute at a high level and show the Pats the risk was worth the reward.
The 2011 Comeback Player of the Year most recently played for the New York Jets.
He sits as a free agent with 550 career receptions, 8,457 receiving yards and 63 touchdowns. He also was part of the New York Giants Super Bowl XLII championship team which coincidentally was against the Patriots.
