It’s been an ugly first half for the Michigan Wolverines. In a game that took center stage on week one of the college football season, Alabama has dominated the first half and put the college football world on notice. Alabama leads Michigan at the half by the score of 31-7. Four different Alabama players have found the endzone in the first two quarters. Michigan crossed midfield just once in the half.
Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson has had a dreadful first half. He was shaken up after making a tackle of Alabama corner Dee Milliner in the first quarter after he threw his first of two interceptions. Robinson has only 99 yards on 5-of-16 passing. He did give the Wolverines their only touchdown of the half.
Milliner, on the other hand, has been very impressive. He has shown why he is considered one of the top cornerbacks in the nation and a future top fifteen pick.
The Alabama defense has completely smothered the Michigan offensive unit. There is no room anywhere on the field and the Wolverines just can’t seem to get anything going. On defense, their effort has been just as bad.
On of the most exciting players on the Alabama offense has been freshman running back T.J. Yeldon. He has contributed 93 total yards and showcased his speed on multiple occasions. He looks like he will be a star in the years to come.
Hopefully for everyone watching, Michigan shows up in the second half and makes this a game. As college football’s featured game, Michigan vs. Alabama has failed to live up to the expectations. Let’s hope the team can regroup during halftime and give us a product worth watching for the final two quarters.
