The Alabama Crimson Tide and Michigan Wolverines take college football’s center stage in prime time on Saturday night at Texas Stadium. The two college football powerhouses will look to start off their seasons in the right direction as they both have national title hopes. Alabama has won ten straight season openers but will they continue that streak against Michigan?
Alabama and Michigan are loaded with talent and that is what makes the game appealing to NFL fans, as well. Many of the players in this game will be playing on Sundays and we have put together a list of those you should watch for as they prepare themselves for the 2013 NFL Draft.
Who To Watch:
Alabama: Chance Warmack, offensive guard — Barrett Jones, center — DJ Fluker, offensive tackle — Eddie Lacy, running back — Dee Milliner, cornerback — CJ Mosley, linebacker
There is no question that Alabama has the most talent in this game. Offensive linemen Chance Warmack and Barrett Jones are both potential top ten draft picks. ESPN’s Todd McShay named Warmack as one of the five best prospects in college football and said he was the best guard prospect he has evaluated.
Michigan: Denard Robinson, quarterback — Taylor Lewan, offensive tackle
Denard Robinson may be the most well-known player on the Michigan squad but he will not play quarterback at the next level. Robinson’s athleticism will allow him to get a look by NFL teams but they will be evaluating him as a wide receiver. As for Lewan, he is another first-round offensive line prospect in this game but he will face a tough task against the Alabama defense.
Many of the players you will see in this game will suit up at the next level so be sure to pay attention and see some of the potential future stars that could call your team home.
