Adrian Peterson’s status was in doubt before the game, but not only did he end up playing and scoring two touchdowns in the game, but Peterson ran his way into first place all-time in Vikings rushing history.
The beast was loose in Minnesota on Sunday and Peterson’s performance was nothing new. In spite of all the short comings as of late with the team and Peterson’s surgically repaired knee, the back has etched his name into Viking lore with the like of Chuck Foreman and Robert Smith. In fact, it was Smith that Peterson passed on the Vikings all-time rushing list.
Minnesota fans haven’t had much to cheer about lately but their one beacon of hope has always been Adrian Peterson, their crown jewel that they can show off to the entire NFL.
He’s a $100 million player and he’s adored by Vikings fans all over the NFL and now, he’s in the record books. Even with the knee injury, from the looks of Peterson’s record breaking performance today, his career rushing record is likely going to stand in Minnesota for quiet some time.
