If you’re like me and you had Matthew Stafford in your fantasy team, this GIF simply captures all the hatred you have for the man right now. But for everyone else (and even to those of us who got burned by by him), one of Matthew Stafford’s passes equated to an entire games worth of entertainment.
Stafford was dangerously close to tossing his fourth pick of the game but with a stroke of luck and perfect positioning — and those motor city kitty-like reflexes — he avoided further embarrassing himself and bailed himself out in hilarious fashion.
As for the rest of the game, the Lions limped through their opening game against the Rams and nearly lost. The Lions struggles against the lowly Rams only signify that they’re not quite ready to take the leap to the next level like the 49ers appeared ready to do so against the Packers. Stafford looked bad, Megatron didn’t sizzle and the secret apparently isn’t out on Brandon Pettigrew because there apparently wasn’t a secret to begin with, he’s just a big body.
We’ll be able to see whether or not the Lions first game was a fluke when they play the aforementioned 49ers next Sunday night on NBC — primetime baby!
