Has the Madden Curse struck once again?
Detroit Lions wide receiver and Madden NFL 13 cover boy Calvin Johnson has been held out of the team’s Wednesday practice with an undisclosed foot injury. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz failed to give any more details on the injury simply stating, ”Injury report. You know me.”
Lions insider Tim Twentyman said that Johnson’s injury did not appear to be serious and that fans can go along their normal lives without much worry.
Let’s put it this way. I disn’t notice anything. Just thought it was a day of rest. He’ll be fine. “@chrisgrace7: @ttwentyman how serious?”

Johnson finished the Lions season opener against the St. Louis Rams with six catches for 111 yards. He never appeared to be hampered by the injury throughout the game so there should be no reason for immediate concern.
The Lions face off against the San Francisco 49ers next week and they will need Megatron to pull the upset in San Francisco. The 49ers defense kept Aaron Rodgers and company in the season opener and the Lions will hope that Stafford and Johnson will be able to find some space to move the ball.
For now, Johnson seems to be safe from the Madden Curse, but don’t hold your breath. This could just be the beginning for Megatron.
