LIVE UPSET ALERT: #2 LSU, #6 Oklahoma In Danger of Falling

Mandatory Credit: Shanna Lockwood-US PRESSWIRE

The No. 2 ranked LSU Tigers and No. 6 ranked Oklahoma Sooners are currently fighting for their BCS title lives and it’s looking like one will fall hard in the Top 25 after Saturday.

Oklahoma still has a full quarter left, but unlike the Tigers of LSU, the Sooners are railing the No. 15 ranked Kansas State Wildcats. It’s been an awful day for the Sooners and in particular Landry Jones, who’s fumble led to the only touchdown of the game for either team.

Other than that one fumble, Jones has managed to stay turnover free, but he’s also managed to stay endzone free as the Sooners have failed to get any points on the board that haven’t come from the foot of their kicker. There is time left for them to turn ot around, but this isn’t an unranked opponent, the Wildcats are for real and they’re proving that so far against Oklahoma.

As for the Tigers, they have little under a quarter left but they also have the lead against Auburn. Spencer Ware and Michael Ford have combined for over 100 yards and a touchdown on the ground for LSU, but that hasn’t been enough to properly distance themselves from Auburn who actually led LSU for a while after allowing a safety and a touchdown to begin the game.

That safety that started off the scoring for LSU has proven to be the difference thus far, but Auburn isn’t going anywhere and they’re giving the Tigers a serious scare in the Top 25. No matter what happens, win or lose, the LSU Tigers will be falling when the next polls are released. It’s now up to Auburn to decide how far that fall ends up being.
