After an unbelievable and nearly flawless performance against the Baylor Bears on Saturday, West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith has been named the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week. Smith destroyed almost every school record and a number of Big 12 records in the Mountaineers 70-63 win over Baylor.

Smith completed 45-of-51 passes for a mind-boggling 656 yards and 8 touchdowns. It is the second time that Smith has won the award in 2012.

After a hot start to the season, Smith is viewed by many as one of the top quarterback prospects for the 2013 NFL Draft. If he can continue his dominating season, he could hear his name called with the first-overall pick. For his senior campaign, the West Virginia signal-caller has thrown for 1,728 yards, 20 touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week award went to Penn State linebacker Michael Mauti who tallied six tackles, half a sack and two interceptions.
