Titans fans are holding their breath at the moment, as quarterback Jake Locker is currently being evaluated after being on the receiving end of a brutal sack by Houston Texans safety Glover Quin.
Locker went down and was thrashing in pain following the hit, one which saw Quin blast Locker completely unblocked. The shoulder in question for Locker is his non-throwing shoulder, but it’s the same shoulder that caused him to leave early in the season opener against the Patriots.
He was able to walk off the field under his own power, but the second year quarterback out of Washington immediately went to the locker room. Locker did return to the sidelines, but he was wearing a sling and is not going to return to the game. Titans fans aren’t concerned with Locker’s return to Sunday’s game, which is looking one-sided anyways.
But Locker is the future in Tennessee and if he’s sidelined for significant time, his development will no doubt be setback. However, any playoff aspirations the Titans wouldn’t die with Locker’s status. Matt Hasselbeck stepped in for Locker and has gone 9-for-15 with a touchdown and an interception against the best defense in the NFL.
However, Locker’s status is really all that’s on the minds of Titans fans and the early diagnosis doesn’t look promising.
