The FanSided Network is kicking off a program to groom the next generation of great sports writers and online sports media personalities.
Years ago, two brothers from Kansas City started a blog called Arrowhead Addict. The venture was so successful that they decided to expand, creating an entire network of NFL team sites. Today, the FanSided Network has 200+ sites covering MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, College Sports, MMA, Pro Wrestling, Soccer, Track, entertainment and more!
We’ve been in this game for a while and we’ve developed a system for launching sites and making them the go-to place for sports fans. We’ve had writers go on to work for ESPN, national newspapers and even the pro teams they started out blogging about!
As FanSided continues to grow and expand, we decided to put our knowledge and expertise to work developing new writers. We’ve always promoted from within and when one of or editors moves on, the next man up is almost always already a part of the network.
That is why we decided to launch FanSided U.
What is it?
FanSided U is our very own writer training program. Those accepted into the program will be placed as a staff writer on one of our 200+ sites. FanSided U students will work under and be trained by some of our best sports editors. They will complete assignments and get to see their work featured on some of the most popular sports sites on the net. Students will have access to FanSided’s knowledge base and training materials.
At the end of the program, those writers who we feel excelled will be promoted to the position of editor and will be given their very own FanSided site! Once they are made editors, the new recruits will be eligible for FanSided’s competitive revenue sharing program.
