Oakland Athletics Will Wear Patch To Honor Pat Neshek’s Late Son

The Oakland Athletics announced today via Twitter that they would wear a patch on their uniforms during tonight’s ALDS game against the Detroit Tigers to honor the passing of Pat Neshek’s son.

It was an unspeakable tragedy as the Neshek’s lost their son, Gehrig John, less than 24 hours after his birth. There as no reason given for the passing of the Neshek’s son. Despite the loss of his son, Neshek will be on the A’s roster for the ALDS. Neshek has had a 1.92 ERA in 19 2/3 innings for the A’s this season.
