The Florida Gators face-off against the LSU Tigers today in the Gators first top ten showdown in “The Swamp” since 2006. Some very important young men for the Gators future will be in attendance for the game and with an impressive performance on the field Florida could see it pay off with some big time recruiting commits.

Two top twenty recruits in the nation — five-star offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil (Columbia/Lake City, Florida) and five-star defensive tackle Montravius Adams (Dooly County/Vienna, Georgia) — will be the apple of the the Gators eye during their recruiting visits.

Tunsil is a player who grew up less than an hour from Gainesville and has been a Florida Gators fan growing up. As a fan, Tunsil has seen the improvements Florida has made on the field.

“They’ve been making good progression,” Tunsil said. “Their running game and offensive line looks a lot better. It’s good to see them toward the top of the SEC with some of the other teams. I’m hoping Florida wins this weekend.”

Florida is currently the third team behind Georgia and Alabama on Tunsil’s list but could a trip to The Swamp push the Gators to the head of the pack?

It could,” Tunsil said. “How much will depend on how I feel at the end. But I know the game will be real exciting and I’m looking forward to seeing the fans get real loud.”

Florida head coach Will Muschamp knows that a big game could sway recruits towards the Gators and he hopes to use this top ten matchup to build for the future.

“You’d love to coach and play at a place like Florida because of a game like this,” Muschamp said. “It’s a national game, it always is. Two of the most prominent programs in the country over the last 10 years as far as playing in national championships and winning national championships.”

If the Gators can pull off the upset with plenty of top recruits in attendance, it will be a big win on and off the field for Florida.
