The first-overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Andrew Luck, has shown the quick ability to adapt to the professional game through the first quarter of the season. As Luck continues to show off his NFL chops, opposing defenders will be looking to get their licks on the young signal-caller and welcome him to the big league.
Sunday afternoon, another rookie, Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Perry, got a clean shot at Luck and made his presence known with a perfectly legal but devastating hit. Check it out:
It was a brutal looking hit — especially when you take into account the pathetic effort at blocking Perry by Colts offensive tackle Winston Justice. Despite how hard the hit was, Luck had to gain even more respect from his teammates after hopping right back up and and not missing a play.
It is the type of toughness that will help rookies win over the veterans — not that Luck needs that.
