The BCS season has begun and we got treated to the first standings of the season Sunday night and there is a lot to digest.
Obviously the Alabama Crimson Tide are No. 1 as they’ve given no indication that they shouldn’t be the best school in the country. However the Florida Gators leap frogged the idle Oregon Ducks to take over the No. 2 spot in the country.
Other surprises include Iowa State and Texas landing in the Top 25 despite boasting two loss seasons at this point. Stanford sticks inside the Top 25 despite a close loss to No. 5 Notre Dame and USC managed to crack the Top 10 even with an early loss to Stanford and close games since then.
The most pleasant surprise has to be the eclectic mix of teams in the Top 5. Besides Alabama who was in the Top
