While the NFL is making an attempt to appeal to a younger generation with their halftime acts, they have picked up a pop diva to take center stage at the league’s big game.
A source familiar with the situation informed the Associated Press that Beyonce will perform at the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show on February 3rd, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The source spoke anonymously because they were unauthorized to publicly reveal the announcement.
An official announcement is expected to come on Wednesday.
Beyonce sang the national anthem at the 2004 Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers in her hometown of Houston, Texas.
The previous Super Bowl halftime performances have featured the likes of Madonna, LMFAO, The Who, Nikki Minaj, Usher, The Black Eyed Peas, Cee-Lo Green and Cirque du Soleil. Beyonce should be a breath of fresh air that will not cause concern of any censorship issues. To catch Beyonce live on stage during halftime buy 2013 Super Bowl tickets or be sure to watch the live broadcast from CBS.
