Anheuser-Busch Becomes Latest To Drop Lance Armstrong Endorsement

When it rains, it pours.

It continues to get worse for Lance Armstrong. Less than a week after being exposed as one of the biggest cheaters in sports history, Armstrong is seeing his endorsers back away from the troubled former cyclist.

Earlier today, it was revealed that troubled cyclist and doping aficionado Lance Armstrong was stepping down as the chairman of the Livestrong cancer charity. Shortly after the revelation, Nike announced that they would be dropping their endorsement of Armstrong for what they characterized as a decade of being misled by Armstrong.

Now, Armstrong has been delivered another blow.

The folks at Anheuser-Busch have announced that they will not continue their relationship with Armstrong once their current deal expires at the end of the year.

Anheuser-Busch did not give a reason for their decision but the company’s U.S. marketing vice president Paul Chibe released a very brief statement.

We have decided not to renew our relationship with Lance Armstrong when our current contract expires at the end of 2012. We will continue to support the Livestrong Foundation and its cycling and running events.

Armstrong is being dropped as a result of his own selfish actions and deceit. When you try to lie for an extended period of time and lead people away from the truth, it eventually will catch up to you as Armstrong is finding out the hard way.
