The Minnesota Timberwolves received some bad news this morning after it was revealed that forward Kevin Love injured his hand during a Wednesday morning workout. It was not a team workout.
The team announced the injury and Love is expected to miss six to eight weeks. Reports indicate that Love has a broken hand.
“#Twolves @kevinlove suffers hand injury. It occurred while working out this morning. He is expected to be out approximately 6-8 wks,” the Timberwolves PR Twitter feed read.
It is a major loss for the Timberwolves who will be without their leader. Last season, Love earned the right to be mentioned with the NBA’s greatest players by averaging 26 points and 13.3 rebounds.
The Timberwolves could also be without point guard Ricky Rubio who is still rehabbing his knee that was injured back in March. Without Love and potentially Rubio, the Timberwolves will struggle to find points. It could be a tough start to the 2012-13 NBA season in Minnesota.
