Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is the earlier leader for Defensive Player of the Year and may have earned the honor of being named the league’s best defender with his incredible start to the 2012-13 NFL season.
Watt is one heck of a player but we haven’t seen much of his personality up until this point in his career. Before yesterday, what appeared to be a no-nonsense, dominant football player but after ESPN played their latest “Soundtracks” from Week 7 of the season during halftime of Monday Night Football, Watt showed that he may be one of the most entertaining and comical trash-talkers in the league.
The former first-round pick was mic’d up for the Texans game against the Baltimore Ravens and what he had to say to the 5-foot-8 Ray Rice was a beautiful line that left everyone laughing.
“I’ve eaten burritos bigger than you,” Watt said to Rice.
The line was so great that even Ravens center Matt Birk had to turn around and have a laugh. When a fifteen-year veteran of the game and Harvard grad turns around to acknowledge your trash-talking, you know you came up with a gem.
If you didn’t get to see Watt deliver the line to Rice on ESPN Soundtracks, you have to check it out right here:
