Ray Allen spent a significant amount of time with forward Kevin Garnett when the two were teammates with the Boston Celtics. When Allen left the Celtics during free agency to sign with the Miami Heat, it was expected that the two were not exactly on good terms moving forward.
We received that confirmation today when Ray Allen took the court for the first time as a member of the Heat in their 2012-13 opener against the Celtics.
Allen took the floor near the end of the first quarter with the Heat leading Boston 22-21. Allen was making the rounds and shaking hands with some of his old friends when he made his way to Kevin Garnett. Allen reached out to say hello to his old teammate but Garnett ignored Allen and gave him the cold shoulder.
Instead of walking away, Allen just slapped KG on the same cold shoulder he was given.
