There is some positive news surfacing about former LSU Tigers defensive back and Heisman Trophy finalist Tyrann Mathieu. Finally.
The player popularly know around the nation as “The Honey Badger” was kicked off of the Tigers football team for multiple failed drug tests but later re-enrolled at the university in hopes of returning to the football program in 2013 after joining drug rehab. Unfortunately for Mathieu, he continued to surround himself around the wrong people and was again found trouble after being arrested on simple marijuana possession charges.
Now, it looks like Mathieu is finally taking charge of his life and taking the right steps towards bettering himself as a man.
It is being reported that Mathieu has moved away from Louisiana in an effort to distance himself from the negative influences in his life. In Louisiana, Mathieu has found himself in constant trouble and it has created some serious issues for the young man.
Mathieu is now living in South Florida where he will be staying with his good friend Patrick Peterson’s family. The two got close during their time at LSU. Peterson is a defensive back for the Arizona Cardinals and could prove to be a great mentor for Mathieu as he looks to improve his off-the-field life.
Let’s hope that these positive steps for Mathieu can lead to the making of a better young man. Mathieu has all of the potential in the world but he has serious problems off the field. If he can get his life in order, Mathieu could once again shine in the spotlight.
