Things are looking up in Cincinnati and that statement’s not confined to their great game against the Broncos on Sunday. From the Red Rifle, Andy Dalton, to their super human deep threat A.J. Green, the Bengals are finally looking like a good football team again.
Green in particular is a big reason for that. The Bengals bet high on him last season spending their top draft pick on him and he’s done everything but make Cincinnati regret that decision. He followed up the pressure to perform with a 7 TD season that saw him stretch the field before getting injured late in the year. Had he not been injured, the logic is that Green could have made a push for 10 TDs on the year.
Well, Green’s not been injured yet this season and we’re getting a glimpse of just how good he is. With a touchdown reception in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Broncos, Green has officially surpassed his rookie touchdown total with a new career high of seven scores.
And he’s not showing any signs of stopping.
The Bengals are one of those teams on the cusp, making the playoffs last year with a lot of help but looking impressive on their way there. This year, and for years to come, this team looks like it’s going to only get better and A.J. Green is only going to get bigger as he performs at a high level for Cincinnati.
