Hey, did you know that Adrian Peterson blew out his knee under a year ago? The back that Vikings play-by-play man Paul Allen calls the best back in the NFL is doing his best to make everyone forget that he ever had as serious knee injury that at one time had analysts doubting he’d ever be the same runner ever again.
Well, question answered; critics successfully shut up.
With is performance on Sunday, Adrian Peterson officially eclipsed the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the 5th time in his career and has pretty much let everyone know that he’s back to business as usual.
Had it not been for that nasty knee injury in Week 16 of last season, Peterson would have successfully gone over 1,000 rushing yards in each of his NFL seasons. Instead he finished just 30 yards shy of the 1,000 yard mark but at that point last season, Peterson’s 2011 yard total wasn’t the main concern of the Vikings. Rather, it was how many more seasons like that did he have in his banged up knees.
For a guy who seemed under valued when he was drafted and has only gotten better, Peterson is doing what he does best: run the ball down the throats of defenses and critics alike. We don’t know how many 1,000 yard seasons Peterson has left in him but add 2012 to the notches on his rushing belt and make room for plenty more.
