Johnny Football For Heisman?

The legend of Johnny Football is reaching a fever pitch.

Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel is quickly becoming a legend in the college football world as he continues to defy all odds. Manziel led the fifteenth-ranked Aggies over the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday giving the redshirt freshman quarterback a signature win.

Manziel’s 345 total yards and two touchdown performance against the defending BCS national champions and number one ranked defense caught the eyes of everyone and could lead him to New York.

The Heisman Trophy presentation is held in New York City and Manziel deserves a spot and potentially even the award.

It is rare for a freshman to be considered a Heisman Trophy finalist, let alone a favorite for the award, but Johnny Football is right in the discussion and could add to his growing legend with the prestigious piece of hardware.

On the season, Manziel has 2,527 passing yards, 1,014 rushing yards and 31 total touchdowns in what many consider to be college football’s toughest conference. It’s hard to top those numbers against the level of competition that Manziel is putting up against the top SEC defenses.

Manziel has quickly become one of the most entertaining players in college football and that could be enough to get him the invite to New York and a place among college football’s greatest players.

The question is “Does Johnny Football deserve to win the Heisman Trophy?”
