Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Tyler Bray entered the season as one of the top quarterback prospects in college football but the Volunteers have struggled and Bray’s stock has taken a hit. Now, Bray could find himself in some hot water after comments made on Tuesday during a session with the media.
Bray was speaking with the media when he said he was talking about the team’s struggles and his commitment to winning football games.
“I get paid to win games,” Bray said.
That’s right. The Tennessee Volunteers quarterback said he was paid to play. It could be nothing, but these types of slip ups are what can pull back the curtain on major scandals. Bray attempted to correct himself and said, “I mean … my education. That’s what the SEC likes to call ‘getting paid.”
Bray has been known to be a hoot when speaking with the media, so I personally can’t wait for the treat when he is faced with NFL media members and personnel surrounding the Tennessee quarterback and asking him tough questions.
One comment Bray made will surely catch the eyes of those NFL media members.
“I couldn’t care less. That’s what you guys are paid to write about and talk about,” Bray said.
At least that time he acknowledge the right people getting paid, but he should start taking his NFL future more seriously. It’s something worth caring about.
