I use to respect Lou Holtz’s and what he said, but anymore he sounds behind the times and just silly! When you have in your possession the collligate football history books and are writing them you don’t just quit! Nick Saban and Alabama have a few more charters to write and when thats finished go out in style like you and the program are!

That’s the case with ANY program that has as much succes as Alabama has over he past 4-5 years. Holt’s wouldn’t really know much about that. He’s a blithering idiot, and comparing his tenure as HC versus Saban’s is asinine.

The headline is very misleading. Fact is, Holtz is right in this case. Now, it’s crazy to say Saban should retire, but he is correct in the fact that the wins aren’t as fun, but the losses are more devastating. Rece even quotes Saban at the end about the fun of building over the constant pressure of maintaining the success.
