Texas A&M Aggies freshman sensation Johnny Manziel is gaining momentum in the race for the Heisman Trophy and the school”s athletic department has finally got behind the man they call “Johnny Football.”
Due to team rules, Manziel isn’t allowed to talk to the media because of his freshman status, so his face isn’t getting out there and he isn’t having an opportunity to make his case for college football’s most prestigious award.
On Friday, Texas A&M officially launched their Heisman campaign for Manziel with a video titled, “The Amazing Johnny Football.” The video’s description read, “Without a doubt, Johnny ‘Football’ Manziel is best candidate for this year’s Heisman Trophy Award.”
“Johnny Manziel is most dynamic player in college football this season. He’s broken the 43-year-old SEC record for total yardage in a game – twice. Through just 10 games, he’s thrown for more yards than Tim Tebow & Troy Smith had in their respective Heisman seasons, and he’s on pace to break Cam Newton’s SEC total offense record – even though he will play in one fewer game.”

I believe that Johnny Football is the best candidate for the award. If I had a vote for the Heisman, it’d be going to the redshirt freshman quarterback that has taken the college football world by storm. Adding the Heisman to his trophy case would be the perfect start to the Johnny Football legend.
