During the UFC 154 prelims, welterweight Matt Riddle entered the cage to face off against John Maguire. Riddle won the fight via unanimous decision but it was a moment in the middle of the bout that got the crowd cheering left viewers at homes saying, “wow.”

Riddle has a reputation as a guy who goes out and is willing to throw the kitchen sink at his opponent. Everyone of his mixed martial arts fights have been inside of the UFC octagon and that has led him to fight with a reckless abandon each and every time he enters the cage. On Saturday, Riddle did just that.

The exciting 170-pounder threw a kick to the body of Maguire, but the Englishman caught the kick and went for a single-leg takedown. With his flare for the dramatics, Riddle turned his back and left his feet before delivering a flying back kick that connected with Maguire’s chin.

It wasn’t a brutal shot but it was an incredible display of athleticism and creativeness that caught Maguire by surprise.
