Thanks to upset losses by top-ranked Kansas State and No. 2 Oregon, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish find themselves at the top of the AP Top 25 poll. In fact, members of the media were unanimous in deciding that Notre Dame was the nation’s top team as the Fighting Irish were awarded all of the first place votes.

Kansas State fell to seven after losing to unranked Baylor, while Oregon fell back to fifth after the loss to Stanford.

With Notre Dame in the drivers seat, it will be up to the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs to fight it out in the SEC Championship to decide who will face off against the Fighting Irish in the BCS title game. Of course, each team has an obstacle next weekend, but they are strong favorites to earn the win.
