Report: Alshon Jeffery Could Miss 2-4 Weeks Following Arthroscopic Knee Surgery

It hasn’t exactly been a storybook season for Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. After being selected out of South Carolina in the second-round a of the 2012 NFL Draft, many were expecting Jeffery to make his impact felt but he has been plagued by injuries to start the season.

Jeffery finally returned from a broken hand to face the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football but his return to the field was short lived.

Per multiple reports, Jeffery injured his knee and has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery that could keep him out of action for two to four weeks. Sean Jensen of the Chicago-Sun Times calls it a “minor” procedure.

On the season, Jeffery has 16 receptions for 199 yards and two touchdowns. He has played only 26 snaps since week five.

The exact details of the surgery and injury were not unveiled.
